Level 4 students are 13 - 17 years old. Some are working on creating art for college portfolios. This level is a combination of projects and self direction. At any time you’ll see students in class working on totally different projects. There is an emphasis on creating solid compositions and observational drawing - drawing from life, actual objects.
Our goals include helping students find and use their creative voice and make artistic decisions. We do some friendly critiques where the class will come together to look at work in progress and make suggestions. Often students take work home so they can continue with it - art can take time and especially when the projects are more involved they often require more time than we have in our weekly classes.
