Students may participate in any class that’s appropriate for their interest and skill. Age is not a prerequisite for any class, but a starting point.

To meet the needs of homeschool families with children of various ages we are offering two classes meeting at the same time.

Level I: Homeschool: (1.0 hour)
Tuesday 6 - 8 year olds 1:00 - 2:00 pm

Projects in this class are designed to guide students in developing their drawing skills while encouraging self-expression and individual creativity. Most of the lessons are guided, with the teacher showing how to break the subject matter down into basic art elements. Students will have their own vision and build on the instructions to create their own finished piece. The non-competitive, friendly atmosphere allows students to take risks and try new things. Subject matter includes: animals, sea life, still life, art history, the human form, buildings, vehicles, and different cultures.

Level 2: Homeschool (1.5 hour)
Tuesday 8 - 10 year olds 1:00 - 2:30 pm

This class is similar to Level 1: Basic Drawing but is designed for children with longer attention spans who are ready for more challenges. The additional time allows students to develop and complete their projects.

Art elements and principles will be incorporated into creating individual compositions. Upon request we will also tailor this class to your curriculum and add topics that support it.

Classes run weekly from September until June 2008. You can join a class at any time if space is available. Our school year is divided into 4 quarters - there are two 8 week sessions and two 9 week sessions. Payment is due before the next session begins. Once you register the space is yours for the year unless you tell us otherwise. Please read the Enrollment and Make-Up Policies page for more information. Additional family members receive a $10 discount per quarter. Homeschool classes are also discounted.

Classes began on Monday, September 10th, 2007 and will run through the last week of May/early June 2008
The school year consists of 34 weeks - we break it down into two 8 week sesssions and two 9 week sessions. The cost per class remains the same - the difference is the number of weeks in the session.
